Summer Ends.

What a summer it has been….IPL kicking off…and gaining instant success. Manchester United clinching the EPL and the Champions League…and of course, my 8^th grade results. It was really one of the best summers’ of my life…even though I spent practically half of the first month doing nothing but moan at my parents as to how bored I was! ANYWAY. Things got better as days passed on. The cricket season started again. And I have to say, I’m pretty proud of myself after the season end. 14 wickets in 6 matches.Nothing much with the bat though…except maybe my 25 runs in the semi-final(which incidentally was the highest individual score of the match). That reminds me of the topic of this post. I’m not currently in the best of the teams in the city. We’re more like the teams in the lower bottom half of the EPL!!!…hehe….anyway, we reached the semi-finals of this particular tournament. YES, IT WAS A BIG DEAL!…t’was against a team from another city(Chennai)…the match kinder got off to a bad start for us. We lost our premier batsmen early…so that left things into my hands. And I played, what had to be the 25 most crucial runs I’ve ever scored. So we notched up a decent score. We went into the field in high spirits…we knocked over a couple of batsmen. Then started the problems. We got this guy out, and he wouldn’t move from the crease!!! Apparently he didn’t reckon it was out…what’s more? Neither did his coach or anyone in his team. So that led to a big confusion and a pretty rough verbal fight…so we(team) took the matter into our hands. We let the damned batsman play.

HE GOT OUT IN THE NEXT OVER!!!

And then came a stage where they sorter fought back…and they were on the verge of winning . later we fought back…now it was anyone’s game. And again the opposition displayed their shameful cricket culture. According to them a catch wasn’t taken cleanly…and then started another fight…more like a riot this time!!!But things got back into control and they sorter forfeited.

So we were in the finals…and we won it!!…By a HUGE margin!!
NO. No controversies involved this time.

So,it was a pretty decent summer for me…a pretty happy one.Except for yesterday. DAMN!!! Nadal just doen’t lose!! CHEERS.

South Africa: Next World Champions??

I’ve been wanting to talk about this from a long time.

The South African cricket team has been a real strong force ever since its return to cricket in the early 90’s.They’ve proven that they can beat any team at anytime.

They have had perhaps, one of the strongest batting line-ups in the world, right from the start. But it isn’t mainly this that makes them strong contenders for the world champion’s spot.

It is their bowling.

Over the years they’ve produced some of the world’s best fast bowlers. The likes of Alan Donald, Shaun Pollock, Brian McMillan (all retired) and many more greatly talented bowlers had made it clear that “The Proteas” are not just another team. But with that kind of potential, it was really sad that they didn’t make their mark as the world’s best team, over a considerable period of time. Maybe it was because of the nature of the Australian team (players like-the Waugh bros., McGrath, Warne.) that no one else could really do much. Or it could have been because of the Pakistan bowling attack (Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram), or simply because South Africa didn’t take their opportunities.

The argument will go on. But I think the past should be forgotten.

Some of the present fast bowlers in the South African team have made it presently -according to me at least – the best bowling line-up in the world as far as tests are concerned. This, according to me, is simply because of the good balance in their bowling line-up. They have Dale Steyn - who is the best fast bowler in the world right now- opening the bowling with none other than Makhaya Ntini. Anyone would be troubled with them bowling in tandem with a new ball! And then of course, Morne Morkel, with his bouncy, seaming deliveries.
The only “Easy Way Out” for the opposition is perhaps Paul Harris. Not a very classy left-arm spinner, but there’s something about him. And that something can be really dangerous at times, especially in the sub-continent. Andre Nel is another really exciting bowler. Unfortunate to have missed out on the India tour though!
These bowlers have really made the ball talk, and have troubled the best of teams. Not to mention, the able support they get from the very experienced Jacques Kallis. Best Bowling Attack in the world??

There is no doubt they have a good batting line-up. They’re bound to have one, with the likes of Kallis, Smith, McKenzie and of course Hashim Amla.

So, are we looking at the next world champions? Well, only time will tell. But they certainly have the potential to be best, so the other teams better watch out.

I know there are quite a few unhappy Australians at the moment, sorry guys!

Phew! I’m online again!!!

Yes, I am! And boy am I happy and relieved. It was a really horrible experience and I still can’t believe I went through 30 plus days without blogging or anything at all related with the World Wide Web!! Now that I’m back, let me tell you what I went through during the long lay-off.

FINAL EXAMINATIONS of 8^th Grade. Strangely, I felt neither nervous nor afraid. So it wasn’t such a bad time at first, given that I was prepared for just about everything. But it was during the middle and later stages that I started behaving like a fish outside water! I just couldn’t stand being away from my computer…being away from the internet…being away from the world. And it wasn’t a short period of time. It was 1^1/2weeks (or possibly, several light years) of complete torture. It was so bad that I couldn’t even put anything in my head. There was only one thing on my mind…27^th of March(last day of examinations). It was so far away! I could have kept my cool-I have done so many times in the past- but it didn’t happen. This resulted in a very bad English exam, and a comparatively bad Math exam. But enough about the exams. All I was thinking was of that day after the exams after which I had nothing but 60 days of total freedom. And the day finally came…after hanging around with a few friends I rushed home, to find out that my login password had been changed! Aaaahhhh!! I was so frustrated! No computer even after the exams! (You should try to imagine my condition) So I had to sit at home watching TV all day long and rotting on the couch. The only thing I think that kept me alive was the joy of thinking about my upcoming cricket season. And better news came to me later that month, just before the cricket season, that my computer would be alright again!! The summer seemed to be improving for me. Then started the cricket. But thanks to my misfortune, my club had changed its timings! There was now a practice session both in the morning and afternoon, which of course meant that I would get no more than 2 hours of free time in between! It doesn’t matter to me if I miss something else due to my ultimate passion-cricket. But this was getting ridiculous! I mean, what’s the point of having 2 sessions just 2 hours apart?? Might as well have a 6 hour long session. Life went on. It went on dully…until one fine Friday morning, the 2^nd of May. A Break! I finally got a break from cricket, and what do you suppose I did after that??!!! Lol….and now I finally am online and blogging!! SO HAPPY! But this maybe the only time I am blogging for the next 20 days or so thanks to some matches coming up in my schedule. But you know what? It doesn’t bother me at all…I’m just happy that I got to sit peacefully on my computer for a few hours!!

Man United here we GO!!

Yes,its united all the way,as the red devils reclaim top spot-AGAIN!.
There's no stopping us now,the trophy awaits its true owners!

But amidst all these celebrations,spare a thought for poor Arse-hole(oops arsenal!!).The Gunners are now the GONNERS!They never really had it in them to be the best club in England.All the experts who claimed
that Arsenal is the best club in the world this year,better have a look
at their results.

And after Arsenal,it's Chelsea's turn to be disappointed.The Blues may think they're in for a chance,but they're in for a shock on h 26th of April.

I don't blame either chelsea or arsenal for having high hopes,but they just have to realize the quality they r up against!Man U has the best player in the world-and the potential best player.Ronaldo and Nani.No way Man U r gonna give away the title wid these two in the team.

So all those arsenal and chelsea fans,fight each other for the 2nd spot...AND PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THE MAN U WAY!!
